What to expect if you hire us for your wedding day.
Before booking
Before booking with us, we like to make sure that we’re a good match for each another - we’re going to be there throughout one of the most special days of your lives, so essentially we want you to like us and what we do!
Our approach is documentary in style that's modern, natural, and unobtrusive while still embracing the more traditional elements. This allows us to remain in the background, capturing your day as it unfolds naturally, allowing you as a couple to relax and not worry about the cameras.
We're super laid-back and encourage our clients to be themselves; there are no expectations from us. If you're not into a lot of posed portraits, that's totally fine and if you're up for an adventure and want to hike a mountain for some photos, we’re all in for that too!
If you’re feeling a bit camera shy, there’s no need to worry. We approach this with empathy, wearing our hearts on our sleeves, aiming to make you feel at ease and comfortable with us and our cameras.
It’s your wedding day and it should wholeheartedly be about you as a couple, your family and your friends, a celebration of love. We just want you to be in the moment, having the best day ever with your favourite people.
We’ve had the pleasure of capturing 100’s of weddings since starting our little business together and throughout this journey we've experienced a variety of weddings all over the UK, Ireland and as far as Jamaica, we’ve met amazing people from all different backgrounds, and honed our skills along the way. One thing we pride ourselves on is our empathy and our ability to read the room and to go with the flow of a wedding day as it naturally unfolds.
Working as a husband and wife team gives us some unique advantages too. The big one being that we’re a great team and being together as long as we have has built a strong bond and connection which allows us to feel relaxed and confident, trusting the other person completely. We also shoot slightly differently to one another and on different lenses which gives a lovely mix of images that blend together wonderfully. It also allows us to cover more ground, meaning we can deliver a wider variety of photos for you. This is especially beneficial during those key moments, like the getting-ready shots or the drinks reception, where being in two places at once ensures nothing is missed.
Ultimately our goal is to create a collection of images that truly reflect your day and for you to look back at your photos and feel all the emotions and moments of your wedding through them. That’s what it’s all about for us.
After booking with us
You can be in touch with us as much or as little as you like, it’s not a problem.
We always recommend that you consider a pre-wedding shoot too as this gives us the chance to meet in person and for you to get more comfortable in front of the camera.
Around six weeks before your wedding day we’ll email you a details form. It will ask you for lots of info such as your timeline, contact details, a list for group shots and anything you might want to add. This ensures that we can be fully prepared for your day in advance.
On the Day
Before the ceremony
We arrive a tad earlier to scope out your venue and this is the time we can be there for any getting ready photos should you choose to have them.
We share the same vehicle so if you’re not too far apart from each another, we can cover both of you during the morning preparations. It’s always lovely being able to look through your gallery seeing each other's pre-ceremony moments and what the other person was doing at the same time.
We’ll stay in the background for the most part of the morning, documenting what happens naturally without any direction.
The Ceremony
We’ll be there to capture your guests arriving and yourselves.
During your ceremony, Krissy will be at the front and Danny towards the back - this means we’ll be able to get coverage from different angles and perspectives such as a first look as a partner walks down the aisle.
There can be some nerves during the ceremony so just focus on each other, smile as much as you can and just enjoy it, this is the moment you marry your best friend surrounded by your loved ones!
Confetti
We always ask our couples after they’ve walked down the aisle to try to hang back as it allows ourselves and the guests enough time to go outside and line up for confetti.
If you can, delegate the task of handing it out to everyone in order to speed things up and keep the flow of your day going.
The more confetti, the better!! Just make sure it’s biodegradable.
Drinks Reception
During your reception we’ll be in the background getting all the shots - the hugs, the laughs and all the little moments in between.
Group shots
For your group shot list we suggest having up to 10 in mind, there is no limit at all though should you want more. We just advise keeping time for group photos short as rounding everyone up can be time consuming, taking away from your day. If you know someone who knows everyone that’s a bonus as it can really keep everything moving, we will also carry the group shot list on us too should you need to refer to it.
The group photos can be as formal or informal as you like, it’s completely up to you. You can always have more traditional photos with immediate family and then some fun ones with your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Couple Portraits
Usually straight after the group shots, we will steal you away for 10-15 minutes for some couple photos - this is a good chance for you both to have a small moment to yourselves and take in being newlyweds.
As mentioned before, we have a very relaxed approach to our couple portraits, we look at it as just going for a walk, having a chat and stopping for photos whenever we see a nice backdrop or moment. We will never force you into poses or make you do anything you’re not comfortable with, we only give prompts such as holding hands and facing each other to bring out the natural interaction between you both.
The details
We document all the little details - we know just how much time, effort and thought goes into it all.
Speeches
During any speeches we focus on the wedding party and your guests reactions. There’s usually lots of wonderful, genuine, emotional and sometimes funny expressions during the speeches as everyone really starts to let loose.
Sunset portraits
We like to sneak you away again for another 5 minutes in the evening around the golden hour, just before sunset. If your day times well with this; the lighting is usually stunning and well worth it!
There’s also normally been a fair amount of merriment and celebrating prior to this so it can really make for some fun relaxed portraits!
Party time
We don’t leave straight away after the first dance, we’re there to document some of the partying too!
The dance floor can have some really epic moments! Everyone often forgets all about us by this point so we can really get in there and capture all the drunken madness, the dance moves, the sillyness, the love and hugs!
After the big day
After your wedding we send over a selection of 100+ preview photos within a few days.
We can take thousands of photos between us on the day. The way we select photos and edit them is all done by ourselves. We never use AI to edit or outsource any help, we hand edit every single photo and our editing style is true to colour with a hint of vibrancy to bring out the natural colours. We often over deliver too, they’re your photos so why shouldn’t you have as many as possible.
Your full gallery will be ready for you between 6-12 working weeks depending on the time of year with regards to the wedding season.
The gallery is online and password protected, it can be shared with family and friends and you will also have the option to make photos private so that only you can see them. You can download each individual photos or the entire album, it’s your choice.
All images are provided in the highest resolution, in a range of colour and black & white. You can order albums and prints with a variety of different options directly from the gallery. The entire process is handled by the industry-leading online gallery provider PicTime and then sent straight out to you.
We keep your gallery online for two years and it can be can extended if needed, some people prefer this as a backup.
Please contact us via our contact form should you have any questions!
